About our Speaker, Arnold Noyek:
Dr. Arnold Noyek’s cousin, American genealogist Davida Noyek Handler, carried out Noyek family research over many years (rooted in Lithuania). Through Davida’s work, Dr. Noyek will show a brilliantly-honed methodology of genealogical research, grounded in effective principles, and how much goes into it. He will discuss the importance of teamwork and the stimulation to participate, showing how many family relationships have grown due to Davida’s efforts. Dr. Noyek will talk about the importance of documentation and about a seminal reunion when momentum is gathered. He will convey some elements of unique world history through his eyes, as a member of the Noyek family.
Dr. Arnold Noyek was born in Ireland and came to Canada at age 3 where he built his service and educational career. He is a highly-regarded Toronto otolaryngologist who has been involved in global health internationally through the Canada International Scientific Exchange Programme (CISEPO), which he founded in 1984. CISEPO builds bridges between Canada and Mid-Eastern nations by training ear, nose and throat physicians and treating patients CISEPO. Dr. Noyek is also an Officer of the Order of Canada.
