Speaker: Ann Dublin: After World War II, approximately 250,000 Holocaust survivors lived in displaced persons (DP) camps, mainly in Austria and Germany. Most of them were stuck in these DP camps for years until they were allowed to immigrate to other countries, like Israel, the U.S. and Canada. Why did these people flee their home countries to search for safety in the DP camps? What were conditions like in the camps, and how did the refugees cope with often difficult circumstances? This is a story of courage, resourcefulness, and ultimately of hope.
