Polin – “Here you will dwell”
Polin, in Hebrew, means “here you will dwell.” This is how Jews used to refer to their country.
As the Jewish communities in Western and Central Europe were suffering persecution and
expulsion, a haven was found.
Beginning in the 14th century, enterprising Polish monarchs and nobility realised how Jewish
settlement could enrich the country.
So the story began…
