Can anyone explain what this chart means?
There is a better image on the Shared cM project website
and numerous other sites on Genetic Genealogy.
centiMorgans is a measure of parts of your DNA profile (genome) which might be interpreted as length & the chart provides an average and range of how much DNA you share with various relationships. I read somewhere that you take that number and divide by 71.4 to tell you the percentage you share (of your 22 autosomal chromosones ) e.g. 3487 is predicted for a parent 3487/71.4 is around 50% which you would expect.
p.s. I am no expert but enjoying wading through the various websites
