DESCRIPTION:This is a virtual event is free to members of the Jewish Genealogy Society of Toronto.  Register here: https://jgstoronto.ca/registration-for-member-only-programs/ \nSpeaker: Anne Dublin \nHow did Holocaust survivors manage to leave Eastern Europe and find safety in displaced persons camps\, mainly in Austria and Germany\, after World War II?  The survivors weren’t whisked away by magic carpet.  What helped tens of thousands of people was an organization called the “Bricha”\, which means “flight” in Hebrew. \nThis is a lecture about why Holocaust survivors were desperate to flee from their home countries\, and the network of people and organizations that helped them.  It’s a story of great risk\, personal sacrifice\, and ultimately\, of hope. \nAt the End of WW II – “The story of the Bricha” the Jewish Underground Railroad – Classi Learning
