DESCRIPTION:  \nJGS TORONTO GLOBAL HERITAGE SIG and CLASSI LECTURES \nAs part of our continued partnership with Classi Lectures\, JGS Toronto members can attend selected Classi lectures at no cost. Learn about the incredible history of the Jews of Hungary.  \nTHE JEWS OF HUNGARY – A 8-PART SERIES WITH TRUDY GOLD\,  \nWednesdays at 4 p.m. ET \n0n the eve of World War II\, the Jewish community was the second largest in Europe\, numbering almost 900\,000 people\, despite 100\,000 having emigrated 1881-1914. The History of the Jews of the Hungarian lands is an extraordinary one dating back nearly 2\,000 years. They lived under Roman\, Tribal\, Christian and Moslem rule. The Jews were prominent in every walk of life – Politics\, Science\, Invention\, Music\, Theatre\, Film\, Banking\, Business and the Professions.
