DESCRIPTION:Central European SIG \nThis is a virtual event for members only\, presented by Classi Lectures.  Trudy Gold. \nWednesday 17 May 2023\, 4-5 pm ET.          1652 – 1750. The Rise of the Sephardi merchants (Part 1) \nFor more than 300 years no Jews\, officially\, existed in the country. It was not until Charles I was beheaded that the Jews felt safe to return. Then\, in 1656 a Dutch Jew named Menasseh ben Israel\, petitioned Oliver Cromwell to allow his people to return. \nResettlement was not a smooth process… \nRegistration: \nJGS Toronto\, in conjunction with Classi Lectures is pleased to announce that this five-part series is a partnered program being offered to its members. The series will also be open to non-members through Classi Lectures.
