The Dutch annually commemorate the loss of 200,000 of their citizens during the 2nd World War.  On May 4th all activity in Holland comes to a halt to recognize those that were lost – Jews, Roma, Sinti, the disabled, the gay, and resistance members who were found out.  Here is the link to the blog of Dutch genealogist Yvette Hoitnik who recently spoke at the National Genealogic Society (NGS) conference in Grand Rapids Michigan.  Ms. Hoitnik assists people who are researching their Dutch roots.
